James joined Huddersfield Elite Sport Education Academy from Barnsley Football Club in October 2013. James graduated in 2009 studying Sports Science with Professional Football Coaching and has since worked at several professional football clubs in various coaching and teaching roles. He successfully obtained the ‘UEFA B’ Coaching Qualification in 2009 and has recently successfully completed the FA Youth Award.
From September 2016 James will lead Huddersfield ESEA, developing performance pathways with various partners as well as delivering the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma.
Away from Huddersfield ESEA James enjoys various part-time roles in sport including leading an academy age group at a professional Championship Football Club alongside owning his own Futsal coaching Academy. He is able to use the experiences gained from these positions to pass on to his learners and ensure his lessons are innovative, current and authentic.
James is a fully qualified teacher and completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) qualification in 2015 achieving the grade ‘outstanding’. This allows him to engage and challenge learners to achieve their full academic potential.
