Do you want to be a football coach? If so, the Foundation Degree in Football Coaching and Development will set you on the path to an exciting career in a football coaching or football development role.

Huddersfield Elite Sport Education Academy offers a unique opportunity for students to further develop their academic and professional careers through gaining a university level qualification in partnership with the University of South Wales. The course has been designed in consultation with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) and will provide you with the skills required to work within professional football clubs and/or national governing bodies. This unique programme covers various aspects important within elite sport including; sport psychology, strength and conditioning, match and performance analysis, exercise physiology, sports nutrition and sports development.

Lectures, seminars and tutorials will be delivered to students at The Zone via an online platform. Students will be enrolled as a student at the University of South Wales allowing them access to the university’s online learning platform, library and all the required learning materials. In conjunction with undergraduate studies learners will undertake a work based learning programme, consisting of up to 300 hours of voluntary coaching, where they will gain experience in areas such as; social inclusion, school and grass root club development, football development and coaching by working alongside the experienced staff at Huddersfield Town Football in the Community.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 160 UCAS Points (MPP at BTEC; A-levels to include at least one Science, or Mathematics, Physical Education or Psychology. National Governing Level 1 or equivalent Football Coaching. Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
